Easter Paw-cnic 2026: A Spring Pet Photography Event at Washington County Humane Society
On April 4th, 2026, the day before Easter, Fall Marie Photography partnered with the Washington County Humane Society to host an Easter Paw-cnic pet photography session, and honestly… it was one for the books!
This year’s set, Easter Paw-cnic in the Park, was designed to mimic a spring picnic scene…playful, bright, and full of personality. Think Easter eggs, garden textures, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
A Day Full of Pets, Personality, and a Little Bit of Chaos
We had over 10 pet parents bring their furry best friends out for Easter mini sessions, along with the opportunity to photograph four rescue animals from the Washington County Humane Society.
Dogs, cats… and then Sammy.
Sammy is a 24-year-old parrot, and easily the most unique animal I’ve ever photographed. He’s a mimicking parrot, which means this wasn’t a “point the camera and hope for the best” situation. No, no, I had to earn it.
I had to talk to him. Build trust. Basically conduct a full-on interview while simultaneously taking photos. And once he decided I passed the vibe check? Magic.
Moments like that are exactly why I do this.
Meet Sammy, the 24 year old parrot!
The Inspiration Behind the Easter Paw-cnic Set
This year, I wanted to push myself creatively for Easter!
Every set I build has intention behind it, and with Easter Paw-cnic in the Park, the goal was simple: create something that felt different. Not just another Easter backdrop, but a spring pet photography set that felt immersive, playful, and full of life.
I wanted it to feel like your pet just wandered into the cutest picnic scene ever, surrounded by seasonal details but still completely the star of the show.
Stepping outside of my comfort zone (Especially with the Wisteria Arch) was a huge part of this build, and honestly? It paid off. The set allowed for so much personality to come through in each session!
Working With Rescue Pets (My Favorite Part, Always)
Hosting this event at the Washington County Humane Society made it even more meaningful.
Not only did we get to capture beautiful Easter pet portraits, but we also had the opportunity to photograph adoptable animals—helping them get seen, shared, and hopefully one step closer to finding their forever homes.
We worked with the rescues and every single one of them brought something unique to the experience.
There’s something about photographing rescue animals that just hits different. It’s not just about the photo—it’s about giving them visibility, telling their story, and helping people connect with them before they even meet.
A Morning Well Spent (and Definitely Worth Repeating)
We were on-site from 9:00 AM to about 1:15 PM, and the entire morning flew by.
Between the sessions, the laughs, the unexpected moments, and the connections made—it was one of those events that reminds you exactly why you love what you do.
The Easter Paw-cnic sessions were everything I hoped they would be: creative, slightly chaotic, and full of heart.
And yes… I will absolutely be doing this again!
Looking Ahead
If you missed this round of Easter pet photography sessions, don’t worry—there’s more coming.
I’ll be continuing to create themed pet mini sessions, partner with local organizations, and design sets that are anything but boring. Because your pet deserves more than a basic backdrop—they deserve an experience.
